If the home heating system is concerned, fireplace was the oldest form of home heating system and till date has not been obscured from its uses. Traditional fireplace heats by radiation method. The radiant heat warms the object around the room but hardly can it warm the air. Basically, the heat is retained within the small territory of the fireplace and very slowly other objects in the room get warm.

There are some new and improves fireplaces which can enhance the radiation level for better heating and also works to retain the radiation level to keep a consistency in room temperature.
The fireplaces which do not require regular clearing are called zero-clearance fireplace. These types of fireplaces are made with prefabricated metals installed in standard wooden frame wall. Fresh combustion air is supplied from outdoor through a pre-installed duct. In this home heating process room air is being circulated via a heat exchanger and is blown back in the room again. A metal double triple walled chimney works as accessory for this home heating system and expels toxic gas and smoke out of the house.

It is always economic to purchase n electric furnace as per the room size. Another advantage of electric fireplace is it can be fitted in old fireplace; for installation of electric fireplace no other construction is required.
